Darkness Dear Boy to perform at P83 Party
Tempe group to join Candlebox at concert in the Peoria Entertainment District.

PEORIA, Ariz. (January 25, 2012) – Tempe musical group, Darkness Dear Boy, will be one of the opening performances for the P83 Party in Peoria. The band will be joining national recording artist, Candlebox, the headlining act. The P83 Party is on Saturday, March 3 following the Seattle Mariners/Oakland Athletics Spring Training game at the Peoria Sports Complex. The P83 Party is from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the beer garden opening at 3 p.m.

Darkness Dear Boy is a weekly regular at Tempe's Long Wong's at the Firehouse. According to various websites which highlight local musical acts, the band is described as an original, indie band that combines rock, alternative, punk, honky tonk and reggae. They are big on dynamics, hooks, harmonies and they incorporate interesting lyrics with infectious melodies. The band puts on a high energy, interactive live show which captures and engages the audience.

The P83 Party is an event put on by the city to highlight businesses in the entertainment district. Tickets are needed to enter the concert and adult beverage areas. Prices are $10 for general admission tickets, and $25 for VIP tickets which allow purchasers to sit close to the main stage. Children 12 and under are free. Attendees to the Seattle Mariners vs. Oakland Athletics Spring Training game get into the concert for free with a ticket stub from the game.

Candlebox is a rock-genre national recording artist from Seattle, Washington. The band had several Billboard chart songs in the 1990's. Several members left the group in 1999 and reunited in 2006.
