Named Regional Vice President for International Municipal Lawyers Association.
10/25/2011
PEORIA, Ariz. (October 25, 2011) – The Board of Directors for the
International Municipal Lawyers Association (IMLA) has appointed Peoria City
Attorney Steve Kemp to be one of 15 Regional Vice Presidents for IMLA. This
appointment follows Kemp’s seven years as IMLA’s Arizona State Chairman. As a
Regional Vice President, Steve will be working closely with local government
attorneys in California, Nevada, Hawaii, and Arizona.
Steve’s goals are to improve continuing legal education opportunities, expand
the use of list-serves and other information-sharing among municipal lawyers,
and increase membership in IMLA. In announcing the appointment, IMLA President
Jay Doegey told Steve: “We see the potential in you to achieve great things for
IMLA.” Steve’s initial term as Regional Vice President will be one year.
The IMLA is a non-profit, professional organization that has been an advocate
and resource for local government attorneys since 1935.
