West Valley Art Museum Extends Woodcut Prints Exhibit

The West Valley Art
Museum has extended its popular woodcut prints exhibit, “Prints From Wood: The
Art of the Woodcut,” through Sept. 22. Woodcuts are a technique of printing
designs from planks of wood. It is one of the oldest methods of making prints
from a relief surface, having been used in China to decorate textiles since the
5th century AD.
Located inside Peoria City Hall, the museum hours are Monday, Tuesday and
Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays from noon until 6 p.m. Visitors who
complete a questionnaire will receive a limited edition, 4” by 6” woodcut image
of a dragon.
