PEORIA, Ariz. (June
28, 2011) – The Peoria Arts Commission is offering grants in three
categories for recognized non-profit fine-arts groups in the city.
The commission will
award:

$100,000 in General
Operating Support Grants, with individual awards of up to $50,000.

$25,200 in Arts
Program Grants for one-time programs and activities, with individual awards of
up to $2,500.
-
$15,000 in Festival
Grants for non-profit festivals and events in Peoria, with individual awards
of up to $3,000.
Interested individuals
and organizations must meet all the eligibility requirements and submit an
application postmarked by Friday, Aug. 19. Peoria requires grant recipients to
participate in city events as a way to give back to the community. Grant
recipients will be notified of their status in late September.
The city will offer two
grant workshops:

Monday, July 11, at 9
a.m. in the second-floor Peoria Room at the Public Safety Administration
Building, 8351 W. Cinnabar Ave.

Thursday, Aug. 4, at
1 p.m. in the Willow Room off the lobby of the Peoria Main Library, 8463 W.
Monroe St.
Attendance is highly
recommended for these workshops and registration is required.
