Celebrate Peoria’s Pioneer Days April 2 in Oldtown

Peoria will honor its Pioneer Days on Saturday, April 2, in historic Oldtown. The theme is "Celebrating Peoria’s Past and Preserving its Future" – honoring Peoria's heritage while demonstrating a commitment to future generations by promoting sustainability. The event will include a "Green Zone" focused on teaching citizens about energy conservation and other environmentally sound practices. The day will begin with the Peoria Pioneer Days 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk, starting at 8 a.m. at the Peoria Community Center, 8335 W. Jefferson St. (Check in at 7 a.m.) The parade will be at 10 a.m. on 83rd Avenue in front of the Central School Museum. A six-mile Family Fun Bike Ride also will take place at 10 a.m., with check in at 9:30 a.m. There will be a free family picnic from 11 a.m. to noon.
