(Peoria, Ariz.) Feb. 20, 2007– Peoria’s latest event, Celebration of the Arts,
is giving local artists an outlet to display and sell their work. And Fred
Gaudet is no exception.
A long-distance hiker, Gaudet realized if he could capture the breath-taking
scenes from his journeys, everyone would win.
He’s completed 800 miles of the Arizona Trail; the 3,000-mile Continental Divide
Trail; hiked over 1,200 miles in the Grand Canyon; and hundreds of miles in
southern Utah and the Northwest U.S. Needless to say, these trips make for
His friends and family were so impressed with the work, they encouraged him to
start Fred Gaudet Photography and turn it into a second career after retirement.
In business for less than a year, this Apache Junction resident is traveling
across the valley to Peoria to give his fine photographs the exposure they
deserve. “I want my business to grow with the event,” said Gaudet. He currently
sells his photographs at several art museums and events across the valley.
Gaudet is one of many artists participating in the West Valley’s newest fine
arts festival, Celebration of the Arts. The event will take place Friday, March
16 and Saturday, March 17 on the grounds of city’s municipal campus. Original
paintings, photography, jewelry, plus wine tasting and sampling of gourmet foods
are just some of the activities planned for the event.
