City to Cut Ribbon on New Wastewater Treatment Facility
Peoria will dedicate the $121 million Butler Water Reclamation Facility – the most expensive capital project in city history – on Monday, June 16. The facility will treat 10 million gallons of wastewater per day, with the potential to expand to 13 million gallons per day. The ceremony will be at 8:30 a.m. at the plant, which is at 8660 N. 79th Ave., just south of the city’s Municipal Operations Center. Parking will be available on 79th Avenue. Members of the public will be able to tour the facility from 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m., and from 9:30 a.m. until noon.
