Improvements to Grand Avenue in Peoria Begin July 9
Restrictions Between 71st to 84th Avenues Until Year End

A stretch of Grand Avenue, between 71st and 84th avenues in Peoria, will be restricted to traffic for several improvements to the road, sidewalk, and landscaping beginning Monday, July 9th through the end of the year. The work will require weekday lane restrictions, generally between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., depending on traffic conditions. Drivers also can anticipate lane restrictions at night and on some weekends. The $4.5 million Arizona Department of Transportation project, which includes improvements from 71st Avenue to Loop 101, comprises: a new right turn lane for northwest-bound Grand Avenue traffic making a turn onto 71st Avenue; add sidewalks between 71st and 75th avenues, and wheelchair-accessible sidewalk ramps at various locations; fencing and bridge painting.
