City of Peoria - Tax Audit
If you have received a privilege tax audit (sales tax) assessment from the City of Peoria, you have 45 days from the time you receive the final assessment to file a written protest. We mail the final assessment to the mailing address provided in your application for the tax license or as updated by you (or your designee).
You may also speak with the Tax section directly within the 45 days but your administrative rights under the law expire at the end of the 45th day. The City of Peoria cannot make adjustments to the audit after this period of time has expired if you have not filed the official protest with the Municipal Tax Hearing Office (click below for more information). The assessment is final at this time and the City will pursue collection activities. Filing a protest is the taxpayer's responsibility.
