City of Peoria Special Events

The city of Peoria hosts many exciting special events throughout the year. Whether it's the annual 4th of July All American Festival or the the Halloween Monster Bash in October, there is plenty to see and do for the entire family at each event.

Peoria teams up with a variety of sponsors that help make each event very special and unique. Not only do they provide fun for the whole family, Peoria's special events help support the community.

The city of Peoria relies on hundreds of volunteers to help facilitate each event, which bring an average of 6,000 in attendance (4th of July event has nearly double that amount). School clubs, community organizations and individuals are encouraged to volunteer to assist with carnival games, arts and crafts, handing out information, event set-up and tear down, and so much more. To learn more about volunteering, call the Community Services Department at 623-773-7137.

Food Vendors
Peoria Special Events is changing its process for booking food vendors to be present at special events. Due to the growth of these events and the increased interest of potential food vendors, we are looking to make the process easier to navigate. This will ideally streamline the process for putting vendors on contract and help keep a unique variety of food items available at events. See instructions and timelines below.

Application Process:

• Food vendor applications will be accepted July 15 - Aug. 15. Applications should be filled out completely along with a list of menu items and prices, pictures of the vendor display, and set-up details are required.

• Applications will then be reviewed by the Special Events staff to select the food vendors for each event.

• Selected food vendors will be notified by Sept. 2 and a contract will be emailed to the information provided on the application.

• Contracts are due back to the City of Peoria Special Events Programmer, Tonia Edmundson by Monday, September 15, 2014. Payment and an insurance policy listing the City of Peoria as additionally insured also are due at that time.
