PEORIA FIREFIGHTER RECRUIT

$33,342 Annual (During Academy)  -  $40,681 - $57,279 Annual (Post Academy)

Opens November 14, 2008 and Closes November 21, 2008

Applications will be available at the City of Peoria Human Resources Department Office located at 8401 W.  Monroe Street, Peoria, AZ 85345 beginning Friday November 14, 2008 until Friday, November 21, 2008.  Applications may be downloaded during the above time frame from the following website: http://www.peoriaaz.gov/jobs .   All completed applications are due in the City’s Human Resources Department no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday November 21, 2008.

A written test for this recruitment will be held on January 10, 2009 at the Glendale Regional Public Safety Training Center (GRPSTC) located at 11550 W. Glendale Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85307.  A fifteen dollar fee ($15.00) will be assessed at the time of the written test. (No cash or personal checks will be accepted, only certified funds, made payable to Glendale Community College). Candidates will be assigned a test time after December 19, 2008.

At the time of the written test, applicants must provide a valid photo ID (i.e. driver’s license, state issued ID card, military ID or school ID).

Successful candidates must meet the following requirements and provide the necessary documentation at time of their scheduled Oral Boards, tentatively scheduled for the first week of February 2009:

·         Must be at least 18 year of age

·         Must have a High School Diploma or GED

·         Must have or be able to obtain a valid Arizona Driver’s License (operator, class D) and have maintained a good driving record (fewer than 8 points the previous 3 years) and present a 39 month DMV driving record. This driving record can be obtained at http://servicearizona.com

·         Proof of a valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic Certification with the State of Arizona.  For information regarding Arizona State Certifications, please visit the Arizona Department of Health Services web site at: http://www.hs.state.az.us/bems/courses.htm

·         Proof of successful completion of a Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) from a licensed agency (i.e. local community college, private testing agency, etc.) within 6 months


CPAT Information:

·         Optional two hour orientation session at Glendale Regional Public Safety Training Center – 12/06/08 & 12/13/08 beginning at 9:00 a.m.

·         Optional practice at Glendale Regional Public Safety Training Center - 1/3/09 & 1/17/09 beginning at 9:00 a.m.
