Sunrise Mountain Branch Library

Project
Description
Construction of a
22,000 branch library at 98th Avenue and Lake Pleasant Parkway
in the Camino A Lago development. The single story pavilion-like
building will complement the services of the main library,
provide a dedicated library location for patrons in northern
Peoria and allow for expansion of the city’s growing book and
media collection. Upon completion in 2009, the existing Sunrise
Mountain branch library (at Sunrise Mountain High School) will
close to the general public and revert to use by students of the
high school only. The new branch library will retain the Sunrise
Mountain name.
The library will
feature:
-
An opening day
collection of 75,000 volumes in large, open areas
-
State-of-the-art
computer lab
-
A teen area
-
Youth / Children
program room
-
Adult /
Multi-purpose program room
-

-
Ample parking for
the library and future Camino A Lago park (planned north of the
library)
-

for moms with strollers
-

outdoor courtyards / program space
-
