Thunderbird Road - Loop 101 Traffic Interchange
(TI) Widening (P-0505A)
Project
Description
This project will widen
Thunderbird Road under the Loop 101 to three lanes in each
direction and increase the turning lanes to two lanes in each
directions. The embankments will be removed and vertical
walls constructed under the abutments. The paving will
line up with the new lanes that the City of Peoria is
constructing west of the intersection.

Project
Status
The traffic will be
restricted to one lane for various periods of construction.
Variable message signs will notify motorists of the construction
and ADOT and the City will coordinate lane closures as
well as with the Triana Park development.
The
project schedule shows work starting in late October 2008 and
finishing in June 2009.
