ARRA PAVEMENT PRESERVATION PROJECT (EN00315)

American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Pavement Preservation Project will restore the pavement surface and incorporate bike lanes for several roadway segments prioritized in a list below.  The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is responsible for administering the City of Peoria’s ARRA program.  ADOT has selected AMEC Earth and Environmental to administer the program on their behalf. This Pavement Preservation Project is being conducted in this manner in the interest of facilitating the necessary Federal regulatory requirements to appropriately qualify the project for ARRA funding.

Project Status
ADOT hired AMEC for the design and project administration.  Maricopa Association of Governments

has also acknowledged the City’s Pavement Preservation Projects for inclusion to the

Regional Transportation Improvement Plan, which is a necessary step to initially qualify the project. 

The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process has been approved, along with all other

approval processes in order to implement the Pavement Preservation Projects.

Project Priority and Phases:

Design Phase and bidding are complete. 

 

Construction commenced June 2010, and continued through August 2010.  All paving has been completed.  Video detection has been completed.  Permanent pavement markings remain to be completed.

 

The list of roadways that have been improved are as follows:

          Beardsley Road, from 83rd Avenue to 99th Avenue

          91st Avenue, from Union Hills Drive to Beardsley Road

          83rd Avenue, from Union Hills Drive to Village Parkway

          Lake Pleasant Road, from Beardsley Road to Rose Garden Lane

          83rd Avenue, from Deer Valley Road to Lone Cactus Drive
