Project Description
This project includes
aesthetic improvements to 84th Avenue, from Peoria Avenue to Monroe Street, to improve pedestrian function and neighborhood character. The improvements will consist of decorative sidewalks, landscaping, utility improvements, crosswalks, pedestrian amenities and opportunities for public art display. Project funding includes approximately $3.6 million in Federal grants through the Maricopa Association of Governments Transportation Program, and is subject to Federal guidelines for administration of design and construction processes

Project Status 

All roadway and landscaping improvements are complete.  The electrical contractor is performing final testing on equipment and lighting.  Solar panels will be installed on the top of each structure in March 2011.  It is anticipated that no further traffic restrictions will be required for this project.  The City would like to thank everyone for their patience during the construction of this project.
