A Regular Meeting of the Youth Advisory Board of the City of Peoria, 
Arizona was convened at 8866 W Thunderbird Road in open and public 
session at 6:05 p.m.

Members Present:  Aya Nameth, Mychal McCormick, Tyler Ashcroft, 
Robert Belanger, Lili Fernandez, Jessica Hewitt, Jared Hummel, Kristen 
Matheson, Maggie Matheson, Kelly Quinn, Gilbert Romero, Shelby Staley, 
and Jane Wakefield.

Members Absent: Amy Andelin-unknown, Jake Blevins-unknown, 
Anthony Durfey-unknown, Chris Ramirez-unknown, Julia Grose-unknown, 
and Anthony Harrington-unknown. 

Municipal Officials Present: Kevin Naughton, Teen, Dara Giglio, Senior 
Office Assistant

MINUTES:  A motion was made by Mychal McCormick to approve the 
minutes of the January 8, 2008, regular meeting. The motion was 
seconded by Jessica Hewitt and, upon vote, carried unanimously.

Disposition of Absence: Discussion and possible action to excuse the 
absences of; Jake Blevins-unknown, Anthony Durfey-unknown, Jared 
Hummel-unknown, Chris Ramirez-unknown, and Jane Wakefield-unknown 
from the January 8, 2008 meeting.

A motion was made by Mychal McCormick not to excuse the members 
listed above for unknown reasons and to excuse those with reasons.  The 
motion was seconded by Tyler Ashcroft and, upon vote, carried 
unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS:

Discussion on YAB participation in the Adaptive Recreation 
Sweetheart Dance on Friday, February 8, 2008.

The board discussed the duties for the dance.  The board will be helping to 
decorate and assist will serving food. Aya will be picking up carnations and 
bringing them to the Community Center.  The attending members will pass 
them out to all dance participants. The board members will also assist in 
clean up after the dance. Directions were given to the Community Center.

Discussion on YAB participation in Youth Leadership Day at 
the Capitol on March 17, 2008.

The Board discussed the fact that only 5 members are able to attend 
the Youth Leadership Day. They are going to check their schedules 
and see who will be able to attend.

Discussion and possible action to set up Youth Government 
Day Committees for April 11, 2008. 

The members divided into committees to handle individual tasks of 
Youth Government Day.

NEW BUSINESS:

Discussion and possible action on YAB participation in the Spring 
Leadership Retreat.
A motion was made by Aya Nameth for the members to participate in the 
Spring Leadership Retreat. The motion was seconded by Robert Belanger 
and, upon vote, carried unanimously. The location and date are to be 
determined. Saturday, April 12th was set as a possible date.
