Thunderbird Road in open and public session in the Eastbrook Conference Room at 5:01 p.m. Members Present: James Foulk, Doris Gosney, Phil Hanson, Larry Lichtenberg, Thomas Schaefer and Reed Webber Members Excused: Anthony Foglio Members Absent: None Municipal Officials Present: Kirk Haines, Parks Manager; and Cree Thul, Customer Service Audience: 1(Robert Gosney, Doris Gosney husband) MINUTES: A motion was made by Phil Hanson, seconded by Larry Lichtenberg to approve the amended minutes from October 9, 2007. Upon vote, the motion carried unanimously. DISPOSITION OF ABSENCES: UNFINISHED BUSINESS: 1. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE SPONSORSHIP REQUESTS AND VERBIAGE OF EVENTS FOR WALL PANELS FOR THE VETERAN MEMORIAL WALL PANELS. Purple Heart Verbiage Shell was discussed. A motion was made by Reed Webber to approve the verbiage, upon approval from the Military Order of the Purple Heart, seconded by Larry Lichtenberg to accept the verbiage. Upon vote one nay and five ayes, motion carried. MIA/POW verbiage was discussed. A motion was made by Phil Hanson, seconded by Doris Gosney to accept the updated verbiage. Upon vote, the motion carried unanimously. Red Cross verbiage was discussed. A motion was made by Phil Hanson, seconded by Doris Gosney to have Kirk Haines draft the verbiage and email the board members. . Upon vote, the motion carried unanimously. A sponsorship application was submitted by the USS Maddox Association with request to sponsor the Tonkin Gulf. A motion was made by James Foulk to accept the application seconded by Thomas Lichtenberg. Upon vote, one abstains, one nay and four ayes, motion carried. The verbiage for the USS Maddox was discussed. A motion was made by James Foulk, seconded by Larry Lichtenberg to approve the amended verbiage. Kirk Haines will forward the amended verbiage to sponsoring group. Upon vote, the motion carried unanimously. A sponsorship application was submitted by the PBR Forces Association with request to sponsor Operation Game Warden. A motion was made by Larry Lichtenberg to accept the event seconded by Doris Gosney. Upon vote one nay and five ayes, motion carried. The verbiage for Operation Game Warden was discussed. A motion was made by Thomas Schaefer, seconded by Larry Lichtenberg to approve the amended verbiage. Kirk Haines will forward the amended verbiage to sponsoring group. Upon vote, the motion carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS: DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE PROGRAMMING FOR THE NOVEMBER 10TH VETERANS MEMORIAL RIBBON CUTTING EVENT AND REPORT FROM VARIOUS SUBCOMMITTEES (PROGRAMMING, REFRESHMENTS, AND COMMUNICATIONS). Updates: The event will begin at 9:30 on November 10, 2007. DVD history with music Invocation and Benediction by Lt. John Lockhart Master of Ceremonies: Mayor Bob Barrett Music provided by a local school band Guest Speakers: George Cushing and Hon. John Keegan Ribbon Cutting: Oldest and Youngest Veteran, Council and Mayor Guided tours with the architect Helicopter Flyover (Reed Webber work in progress) A motion was made by Thomas Schaefer, seconded by Phil Hanson to have light refreshments will be provided by Classic Catering. Upon vote, the motion carried unanimously. A motion was made by Thomas Schaefer, seconded by Phil Hanson to have a Final Run through Rehearsal on November 5, 2007 from 5:00p.m to 6:00p.m. Upon vote, the motion carried unanimously.
