CITY OF PEORIA, ARIZONA Economic Development Conference Room Thursday May 10, 2007 A Regular Meeting of the Economic Development Advisory Board of the City of Peoria, Arizona, was convened by Chairman, Joe Hull in open and public session at 8401 W. Monroe Street, Peoria, AZ 85345 at 12:03 p.m. Members Present: Shelley Bade, Keith Dines, Joe Hull, and Russ Ullinger Members Absent: David Bentler, Jack Lytle, Curt Smith, and Jay Cross Municipal Officials Present: Steve Prokopek – Economic Development Director, Debbie Pearson – Executive Assistant, Steve Bleyer – Management Analyst, Scott Cooper – Economic Development Coordinator, Carl Swenson – Deputy city Manager, John F. Wenderski – Deputy City Manager, Susan Thorpe – Deputy City Manager, Stuart Robinson – Public Affairs Specialist, Brad Hill – Water Resources Manager, and Cathy Carlat – Council member. Others Present: Chuck Kelly (AZ Republic), Diane Sheighel, and Howard Weichsel. REGULAR AGENDA Disposition of Absence: Discussion and possible action to excuse absent members; David Bentler and Russ Ullinger from the April 12, 2007 meeting. Motion was made by Keith Dines, seconded by Shelley Bade to approve the absent members. Upon vote, the motion passed unanimously. Debbie Pearson gave brief update on the 4th Annual Golf Event NEW BUSINESS: 1. John Wenderski and Brad Hill gave a presentation regarding The Principles of Sound Water Management. a. Changes would be made to Policy #6 regarding land use water management. Case study was done on changing certain areas that are medium residential to business/commercial. Outcome gave a more favorable revenue total. b. Proposal will be made to council at the July 10th meeting to change criteria in the General Plan. c. Would like support from the EDAB. 2. Steve Prokopek reviewed any press releases about projects happening in Peoria. Economic Development Director’s Report: Mercedes project continues to move forward.
